Modeling of propagation of optical impulses in nonlinear media

The results of model of propagation of optical impulses in nonlinear media are discussed in the paper. Research in the solitary wave of light and interaction in nonlinear optical fiber represents a pressing issue in communications. The task can be adjusted to a nonlinear Schrödinger equation for amplitude of envelope of electromagnetic field. To solve the nonlinear equation, we use split step Fourier method (SSFT) in relation to physical parameters. Graphical results are provided for both, homogeneous and non-homogeneous media with varying parameters.
