The video games industry is worth billions of dollars and exceeds the worth of the music and film industries. Modern games stand out with their considerably enhanced visuals and audio, as well as increased scope and longevity. Of course, such factors are associated with rising game development costs, which affect the industry in a negative way - games become more expensive to purchase, some content is locked behind a paywall, games increasingly rely on microtransactions, etc. We believe, that one of the core causes of such costs is the paradigm that is currently dominant in the games industry - OOP. We'll review the newer ECS paradigm as a potential alternative. Having implemented the paradigm, our results indicate considerable advantages compared to traditional OOP.
