Research of materials magnetic properties is very important to determine their physical characteristics. Properties of superconducting materials are often studied by magnetic measurements. One of the main feature of superconductors is Meissner effect, which is one of few quantum effects that can be observed with the naked eye. This phenomenon alongside other properties of superconductors makes this material ideal for many crucial applications (strong magnets, sensors, superconducting cables, frictionless joints). In this seminar we will look at brief history of research of this phenomena, Magnetic Properties of Superconducting materials like Meissner effect, Magnetic Flux pinning and vortex state.
